On 26 May 2021, the Organic Law on the Protection of Personal Data (‘the Law’) was finally published in the Official Registry, establishing in Ecuador a real legal framework for the exercise of data privacy rights recognised by the Constitution of the Republic of Ecuador 2008 (‘the Constitution’).
