Carlos Alberto Arroyo del Río is a partner at Falconi Puig Abogados. He has more than 25 years as a practitioner in intellectual property, advertising and commercial law and litigation. His experience includes representing and advising various industries such as banking, food and beverage and pharmaceuticals on litigation and transactional issues in Latin America.

In his intellectual property practice, he coordinates processes for the evaluation of intangible assets, structures contracts for access to genetic resources, directs the management and handling of trademark portfolios of both domestic and foreign companies, represents clients in the protection and defence of trademarks and patents, performs due diligences as well as contract negotiation, enforcement of infringement proceedings and all aspects related to regulatory law in these spheres.

He is an expert in advertising law. As a practitioner in this area, he handles approval issues for advertisements and campaigns and performs analysis to ensure that campaigns, promotions, and advertisements comply with the applicable rules and requirements of the various sectors.

Since 2005, he has been a lecturer in intellectual property at several Ecuadorean universities. He is also very involved in legal issues related to sports law – a reflection of his passion for sport.
